High altitude camp: 4 miles on a really rocky road. This was tough but I did alright. The altitude never really bothered me. I felt like my breathing was great but my legs just hurt the most. And I noticed I need new shoes because I got 2 blisters!

The camp was super fun even though it was prolly the hardest week of runs ever!! But we learned so much about being better runners. My biggest goal is to be confident and to trust in myself because I personally feel that's what I need to work on the most. I am really excited for the season and hope to continue to be a better runner.

AM: today I felt grand! we did 6x1000's but had to hit 15-20 seconds faster than last week. So my time was about 4:50. My times were 4:51, :53, :50, :50, :46, :43. I was really happy with the consistency and how I was able to hit my goal time. Good workout:)

PM: 3 miles- felt very not good. I fell way behind mostly because I ate too close to the run, and my left leg started hurting in a way that I think I am getting shin splints:( Weights and plyos afterward.

Warmed up 1 mile and then did 1/1 workout, 1 min on, 1 min off. I had to hit about 235ish meters- 9.5 cones. I was really happy with how I did. I made it to the end -15- and felt great! I was hitting each one, with the right distance. It was a lot easier for me than the 30/30 workout. Then I cooled down 1/2 mile with Brianna and Macey. My shin only hurt on the warm up and the beginning of the workout, but felt fine after that. But I will ice and stretch good today so I will feel okay for the time trial tomorrow.

Kids club was great! Way fun to be able to do that this summer:) The little girls are so cute and fun! Later in the afternoon I got some new running shoes! They are legit:) I've had the same ones for way too long and that's the main reason I got shin splints and my calves have always been so tight.

I don't really know what to think about this time trial, but I know I gave it my best. We warmed up 1.5 miles then the girls started 2 minutes after the boys. The first lap was good, I ran with alli- man she's fast!- and we pushed eachother. The next lap we took turns leading, each pushing eachother. Then the last 800 she booked it and made a little gap on me but I also pushed harder. We caught up to Ali J, and sprinted to the finish. They both were super close and I finished 2 seconds after. It was a really good push and I was glad I got under 15 minutes. I did nearly 3 minutes better than my first time trial last year, and I got the exact same time as the last time trial last year. We cooled down 1.5 miles then I missed striders to go get my physical. I found out that I was low in iron and that is what has been causing me to be tired a lot. More broccoli for me!

am: 8 miles with 3 miles tempo. We ran on the river trail and we started our tempo at 2 miles in. I started pretty good, keeping up with the girls and we took turns leading the tempo every .5 mile. That really helps because then I prolly would fall behind.  I lead the tempo second and continued to keep up until the last mile of the tempo. First 2 miles were about 7-7:30 pace and my last mile was about 8 min pace cuz my left arch in my foot started to really hurt and I fell behind... And it hurt the rest of the run. But we grouped up again after the tempo and finished great! Overall, I kept up for longer than I thought! Good run:)

pm: 3 miles, felt pretty good but just sore calves. I was able to keep up for most of it while listening to Roberts, liz, and even dallen talk all funny:) haha, and coach biffed it. Weights and plyos after.

I was up at my ward campout which was around where we had xc camp. I got up and ran 3 miles with carli which was super fun cuz we were finding trails to run on and ran into a lot of hills and rocks. Our pace was pretty slow, but then I ran the last mile by myself and I went a few minutes faster pace. It felt soo good up there even though it was raining on me.

AM: I warmed up only half a mile cuz I started late and then we ddi 6x1000's at the high school. My goal time based off of last weeks time trial was 5:14. My times were 4:37- much too fast, 4:56, 5:09, :08, :09, :07. I didn't feel so good, I was just super tired, hopefully I will have more energy for the race tomorrow! 1.5 mile cool down.

PM: 3 miles. We went really really fast, even though coach wasn't there. But it felt good! I stayed up with the girls the WHOLE time!! yippee! Every time I fell back mia made me catch up with them again so that helped. It felt good except for I felt my shin splints again. I need to ice today so they don't hurt tomorrow. Weights and plyos after! Great day!

am: ran an easy 5, felt really good! 200's after.

pm: race: girls warmed up about 2 miles, did agilities, and went to the start. The gun went off, but we took a couple seconds before we realized he had already shot it:) My goal was to keep up with ali and kaelie, since they are really good at pushing and working with eachother. And for the first mile and a half we had about 5 girls from our team together! Then some fell back and it was me, ali, and kaelie. We pushed eachother and ali pulled ahead and I made myself go with her and we eventually finished really close! In the end my kick was really bad, cause I cant sprint after 3 miles, but no one passed me so that's good:) I was 4 seconds off my best time, 22:24 but it was a Great race to start the season! Then I cooled down a mile with macey.

pm: I ran .5 mile warm up and decided to not do the workout cause I was hurting. Coach had me run on the track so it didn't bother my shin. I only ran 1 mile though, then stretched and iced.

I wanted to race so badly! The course looked so fun and fast and I was looking forward to a good PR. But it was really fun to cheer on the team and see everyone do aweseome! I attempted a warm up and stopped and decided it would be good not to race. My shin is so annoying!

Ran 1.5 to harts with the girls. I already miss running with them :( but I turned around and its a good thing I did, cuz on the way back I was in deep pain. Afterwards I went into marks room and the girl trainer (I don't remember her name) e-stemed me, or whatever its called. I hope I can run this weekend!

I have drivers ed everyday after school now so I am going to go to morning runs once I can run.

This morning before school I went to marks again and he did ultra sound on me and heated my leg. Then he massaged it with this really hot minty stuff and it hurt sooooo bad! He loosened up all the knots in my shin and taped my left foot for more support. Then later i went to the running center and got some inserts to put in my shoes. They gave me a lot of advice and told me that my left arch needs a lot of support so hopefully that helps. I stretched, iced, and rolled and now I'm debating on trying to run again tomorrow... but man, shin splints are such a pain!!!

am: This morning I gave running a shot to see how I feel to decide whether I am gonna race tomorrow or not. We started running on the grass around the baseball field which I really liked and felt great on but the other girls didn't like it and decided to finish the last couple miles doing the di loop. So I ran a shorter loop and finished with Chancie doing 2 miles. I felt so wonderful, Only a little pain...

pm: I ran 2 miles and my shin hurt for the first half but felt good after that. then I tried a couple 200's which my shin didn't like so much. stretched and rolled after.

I ran the most mileage I have for a week! And I am going to race tomorrow so I don't have any high expectations, I am just glad I get to run in it :)

This race went pretty good! The varsity girls and i ran a couple miles warm up and my shin wasnt bugging me at all so i thought it would be a great race. After waiting forever to start we finally started and i got stuck right in the back. But then i found Mascerem and followed her through all the girls to a better spot.

First lap was great and i was so happy cuz i felt no pain in my legs AT ALL! Then i caught up to ali and pushed with her through the second lap. The last lap I started to kick in on the downhill and ended up passing a couple girls! I felt like i had been going a ton faster and thought i would break 22! I didn't but i pr'd by a minute from this course from last year! I liked this course alot although half was a slow incline and the other half was a slow downhill. I always got passed on the uphill but then i would pass  again on the downhill. The only thing that bugged me during the race was my breathing was super bad and i got a major sideache that i managed to ignore for most of it. But overall pretty good!

I was excited for this workout cuz i love racing the mile! It was the 6 minute test thing. But i ended up not even getting to run it and iced instead:( I ran the warm up to harts and my shin was really bugging me. which was sad cuz after the race on saturday i thought it was lots better! but its not so i just have to take it easy this week and keep helping it so hopefully i can race on saturday!

Warmed up 1 mile, and was hurting a little bit. But I wanted to run so i decided i would stop if my shin was hurting too bad. SO we started after the youngsters and boys and i went right up to the front. i was hoping to stick with ali. The first lap was hard, but i felt alright. I then caught up with ali but after the second lap she had to stop which meant i had no one to push with. The last 800 kaelie passed me on the hill and beat me by a second. My shin only really hurt up the hill and the final sprint at the end. Then i cooled down 1/2 mile. I got 30 seconds slower than the first time trial, but hey, at least i got to run it!

Drove up to AF today and once we got there we ran the state course. I like the course alot and can tell that it goes by fast. I ran the most i have at once for a week. I was feeling pretty good the first mile and then my legs hurt really bad. everywhere. at first it was random stabbing pains in weird places. Then i fell behind and my calves tightened up super bad all the sudden and ached. It hurt with every step and i had to stop and walk and was on the verge of tears:/ afterwards i stretched really good which felt nice and rolled alot.

Super nervous this morning!! after how i felt on yesterdays run i was really worried for how i would feel for the race. But good thing it was only 2 miles! I warmed up a couple miles and i felt good except for my calves felt super achy and sore. right before i went to line up for the race i took off my compression sleeves. That did the trick! Then i was able to walk over there with no tightness so apparently the sleeves were suffocating my legs and making them hurt!

i was the 5th and last leg for the relay. I had to wait a while as i cheered on liz, mia, alli, and ali who all did really good. Ali did a great hand off to me and i started out strong with desert hills rachel slade following a little bit after. The girls helped me alot with their cheering and i made sure to surge on the downhill. On the uphill, rachel slade caught up to me and i stepped up to a little bit of a quicker pace to stay with her. I think she really helped me push myself past my limits because she made me go with her at a faster pace than i wouldve been going. i stayed with her for almost a 1/2 mile i think and then she passed and i just aimed to keep her in my sight. It was alot of fun with the hay bails and especially because it was made into a relay which made me run for the team more than for myself. Very happy with how i did and my legs didnt hurt at all!!
