Went rock climbing this morning at the Chuckawalla trail where we ran once and kinda beat up my knee. It got really bruised and swollen so i didnt attempt a run cuz it hurt when i walked. :(

Trail run! My favorite! Over be pioneer park. 4 super fun miles- I led the girls downhill for the most part on till the turn around. Then we did like an indian run thing where we took turns leading the pack. Great day.

5 miles with 12 min AT tempo: goal time 7-7:30 pace. Today was really hard for me! I kept up with the girls for the first 6 minutes of the tempo and then fell behind until tempo was over. :/ I was dying. But i did keep up a pretty good pace for the most part. It felt pretty long. Then wieights after.

I ran 4.5 w/10 min LT pace- had to cut it short. I didn't have a time to start out with and was only with carli cuz we had turned around early. I averaged 7:00 min pace and carli was a little ways behind. It wasn't that good but was glad i did it.

Liz, ali, carli and I ran 5 miles with 10 min LT tempo. It was good! except my garmin said my average pace was 7 min but i coulda sworn it was tons faster! I wasn't too far behind ali and liz. Felt amazing though! didnt get much mileage in this week :/ but it might be doing some good for my leg!

3x1000 (85%) w/recovery, Harts warm/cool. First time i have ran on the track since last track season! Felt sooo good! times were 4:18, 4:18, 4:07. Don't have an absolute time, First 2 i focused on staying with Liz and i did! On the last one i wanted to be more up with ali so i tried but last lap i fell off her a little bit still came in behind her! I was happy with how i did and hope to keep on improving my times as i am getting ready for track! Wieghts afterward.

Old man hills. i only did one because my shin has been hurting all day. Especially when i run. I tried one hill and decided to stretch during the next one then run back with the girls. Icing and stretching I think will help. Weights afterwards!

3 miles easy with striders. My shin hurt throughout all 3 miles :( pretty bad. So i thought to not do striders but decided they might be good on my legs. So i did them and I felt really good. Iced again today for a long time.

2x1000 on the track. Warmed up 1.5 miles, shin hurt really bad. Ran the first one - 4:00, felt good. Ran the third one - 3:50. Ran a mile cool down. Bummer my leg has to hurt on my fav workout. But i was really happy with the 2 i did. Weights/icing/stretching after.

Trail run on the fun Chuckwalla. Which is also my place for rock climbing:) Was going 3 but they turned us around late. My shin hurt like no other the whole time. I am really frustrated with it and am sick of being injured all the time :( i miss being able to run fast and being able to challenge myself to go even faster without having to hurt so much. Ah well, trying to stay strong!

Today I went to April Larson's house and she changed my whole outlook on running. She first rubbed this burning oil on my leg and massaged it for about 35 minutes. It hurt sooo bad!! My legs were really really tight and that had been causing alot of my pain. When she was done it felt way better. I am definitely going to be seeing her again sometime. She gave me much advice that i hadn't known, and that will help me with my injury. Apparently i do have shin splints but haven't been taking the proper care for it...

Afterwards i went to the running center and got 2 pairs of shoes! They are much better than the ones I had which i found out were just making my injury worse. Happy Day!

5 miles with 10 minutes of LT tempo. I was happy with my run today, mostly because i was able to forget about my injury and focus on pacing myself throughout the 10 minutes. I was able to stay with Mescerem until she fell off and i paced myself off of Bryan :) Would've been nice to have a watch, thats for sure. I felt alot better than i have been, so it was a good positive run that i needed. Weights after were great!

Ran the 9k which was super fun! The only bad part was that we made a wrong turn and it ended up being about 5 miles :/ I didn't notice till the end of the race and was a little upset because i still had alot of saved energy for the last mile that i didn't get to use. Ended with a time just over 38 minutes. But i felt really good and won my first medal getting 2nd in my age division :) Very fun.

Warmed up and ran the 1600 race and honestly don't remember much. But I focused on pushing myself with Josie and kicked it in on the last lap. I need to work on not starting out to fast. It was good weather but I know I can get a better time! Hoping for BYU qualification!

Did a progression workout after the race but only 3.5 miles of it. My legs were super sore and still trying to get over my sickness. It was tough!

Warmed up 2 miles (i felt like that was way too much) then ran in the 2nd heat of the 3200. This was a disappointing yet strong race for me. I picked a spot and stayed there for the first half of the race and then moved up girls as they caught up to me. But then on the last lap i let them get away and ended up being passed by a few girls in the last 200 meters. My time is a whole minute off of my PR, and it was windy, but next time i will do better especially because i shouldn't be sick anymore.

First time this season that i did the whole workout! 4X1000's, Harts warm/cool, 2x300's. I was not planning on doing all 4 thousands or doing the 300's but I did! My time was supposed to be around low 4's i think... 4:02, :17, :08, :14. Not great times but i know i gave it my all! then the 300's my legs were so dead i just gave what i got- :56, :58ish. Weights after. Tough, good day, legs were pretty tight but other than that felt great.

Did my workout this morning which was awesome especially cuz i better saw where i was in my running with all the girls there. 2x800's- 3:03, 3:07. Got to lead the small group of girls behind me and that kinda built my confidence up during this workout. it was windy on the home stretch but good other than that. 1 warm and 1.5 cool, and plyos which kinda hurt my shin... maybe i shouldnt do those...

warmed up 1.5, shin really really hurt. Sprinted the long sides of the track and jogged the curves for 1 mile. Did a couple hill sprints then stopped. Cooled down one mile, iced and did weights. First day back running!! Yesterday at my doctor appt. i was told i can start easing back into it and run 2-3 times each week. so on my non- running days i will be swimming/biking.

Today i ran 2 miles easy which actually pretty hard... but it was alright. Kids club was a blast! I am proud of my little sisters each doing great in their race and all the 5th and 6th grade boys :) Iced and stretched good after

Today was great, ran a mile on the road with the team for their warm up with my shin hurting very little. Then Liz and I ran on the grass for a half mile which felt WAY better on my shin so i think i will stick with running on soft surfaces for a while. Kids club today was tons of fun too!

35 min- warmed up .5, then a 10 min warm up. Did 1st and 3rd 6 min interval with the girls. I felt so great! My leg didn't hurt and my breathing is getting better as i run more and get into better shape. It felt great to actually run part of the workout and run a faster harder pace. lotsa fun. Today was great! 10 min warm up, 5x1000's. We had an awesome group and by the last one everyone hung on to the top group for a long time! My time to hit was 5:15ish, which was about the same as Carolines, so i pushed with her. Times were: 4:50, 5:13, 4:50, 4:43, 4:36. I felt great and can feel myself getting into better shape.

Race was good. I am happy with how I did, even though Caroline bumped me off of varsity :) but the girls on our team pushed me a ton and i didn't get passed throughout the whole race. I just kept a good hard pace for myself and kept passing girls one by one. Time was 22:37, 13 seconds off of my PR from freshman year. So I'm getting there! Fun day.

Today was pretty good, i felt really strong and kept a good pace up the long hill. I cut it short though because of my leg. This week i really want to work on making it feel okay. I don't want to stop running! Striders after felt good. Stretch and iced after.

5x1000's - today was awesome! definitely a confidence booster. thousand time was supposed to be 5:21, but i really wanted to push it harder and stay with the front group. Which I did! times were 4:45, :43, :31, :48, :38. Kind of all over the place but tons faster than last week. I led the girls the whole time on the 3rd one which I went way too fast but thats because it really makes a huge difference when you are in the front and leading. Leg hurt but not too bad. Stretched and weights after.

20 min with 10 min steady state -Sadly i had to cut it short today for a lesson but i felt alright with what i did. I have gotten to the point where i feel totally back in good shape and my form is lots better. My leg is the only thing holding me back now...But i am working on it!

Today was really good overall. I ran JV, got 3rd after 2 dhills girls. I was 2nd for first 2 miles and pushed with one dhilll girl for the last until the last 200 m. she gapped me :/ but I know i did the best i could! and I FINALLY PR'd!! by 35 seconds :) I haven't pr'd since my freshman year so i am super happy i finally did. I pushed harder this race than i have for a loong time.. But it was fun and our girls team did AWESOME.

i did every other one because my leg was really hurting. But for the ones i did i kept up really good, felt great till the last one but it was still alright. I think i am going to cross train instead of run every other day for the next week or two becuase i really dont want to make my leg feel any worse than it is. weights after.

Time trail #2... 15:12... 7 seconds faster than time trial #1. I don't know what to think about today. I'm not too happy with how I did, i wish I could pace myself a lot better because i feel good the first mile but then i feel so slow the last half. My breathing was really bad too. I need to work on that. Shin hurt and its getting to where it hurts to walk on. It's not where my stress fracture was but on the top of my left shin rather than the bottom. Man, my leg is a pain.

Sorry about your leg. Have you tried aquajogging or taking an antiinflammatory medications?

Got many answers about my leg and was so happy to hear that I can keep running! I found out that i have a bad case of shin splints and a messed up structure of a left leg. So, with good care of my leg, cross training and orthotics i should me good to go! Excited to get back into it! Ran an easy 20 minutes, felt a bit out of shape but alright.

Wanted to run 30 min but I was hurting pretty bad. So i turned around at harts, 15 minutes, stretched and iced after with weights. hoping all the stuff i am doing and all the changes ive been making will show some major improvements for my leg. Excited to race this weekend!!
